As the Super Eagles gear up for their next encounter at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, there's a notable absence in the training ranks. Alhassan Yusuf, who played a crucial role in the team, didn't participate in full training following an incident in the previous match against Equatorial Guinea.

During the 1-1 draw on Sunday, Yusuf had to be stretchered off the field, leaving a concern about his availability for the upcoming clash against the Elephants of Cote d'Ivoire at the Alassanne Quattara Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan, scheduled for Thursday.

In the midst of preparations, the Royal Antwerp midfielder's absence in training was evident, with Joe Aribo stepping in as his substitute in the 67th minute of the previous game. While the rest of the squad, consisting of 24 players, actively participated in the training session, Yusuf's status remains uncertain.

With just two days remaining before the pivotal match against Cote d'Ivoire, all eyes will be on Yusuf as he strives to prove his fitness and potentially make a crucial contribution to the Super Eagles' quest for glory in the tournament. The anticipation builds as fans await updates on the dynamic midfielder's condition in the lead-up to this crucial showdown.
